GCMTI of DH won the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award (Platinum Award) and the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award (Senior Professional) in the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme 2025-26


The Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute (GCMTI) of Department of Health (DH) was awarded the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award (Platinum Award) in the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme 2025-26, organised by the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC), for the second consecutive term. In addition, a chemist from GCMTI received the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award (Senior Professional). These two honors reaffirm GCMTI’s long-term commitment and outstanding performance in personnel training and human resources development.

Launched in 2021, the Award Scheme with full support from the Innovation and Technology Commission is a biennial event for the local testing and certification (T&C) industry, encouraging T&C bodies to strengthen talent training and development and commending practitioners who has striven for professional development. Having first attained the Platinum Award in 2023–24, GCMTI was honored again with this highest distinction, underscoring the consistency in talent development. GCMTI will continue promoting the high-quality development of Chinese medicines testing and certification in Hong Kong.

Since 2022, GCMTI has been accredited under the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme in the test category of Chinese medicine. This accreditation recognised that GCMTI’s laboratory management system and technical competence of analysis meet the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Scope of Accreditation).
